To ensure your Oliphant backdrop remains in exceptional condition and retains its quality, we kindly ask that you follow these detailed care guidelines.
BACKDROP CARE
Unwrapping with Care: When unwrapping your backdrop, please avoid using any sharp tools or objects that could pierce, scratch, or otherwise damage the delicate surface. Instead, we recommend gently handling the packaging to maintain the pristine appearance of your backdrop.
Setting Up with a Clean Surface: Before rolling out your backdrop, please ensure that the floor or surface beneath it is completely dry, smooth, and free from any dirt, dust, or debris. This helps to keep the backdrop in top condition and ensures it remains pristine throughout your shoot.
Avoid Fastening with Staples: To preserve the backdrop’s integrity, please avoid stapling it, as staples can easily create rips or holes that may compromise its quality. Please be aware that any damage incurred as a result of stapling will be subject to repair charges.
Use of Stretcher Bars or Flats: Our backdrops should not be stretched over stretcher bars or flats unless permission is granted by Oliphant Studio. This ensures that the fabric and texture remain uncompromised.
Gentle Handling and Safeguarding: Our backdrops are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, and to preserve their quality, please handle them with care. Avoid dragging, pulling, or allowing them to come into contact with sharp edges, as well as placing them on dirty or rough surfaces that could cause scuffs or permanent marks. When working around the backdrop, refrain from dragging or placing any heavy or sharp objects across its surface, as these may scratch or damage it. Please wipe your shoes before stepping onto the backdrop, and if models are wearing heels, exercise extra caution to prevent punctures, scratches, or tears.
Professional Cleaning Only: We ask that you do not attempt to clean, alter, or repair the backdrop yourself, as this could inadvertently cause damage. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the backdrop’s condition during your shoot, please do not hesitate to reach out to the studio first. We are here to guide you in handling the backdrop with care.
Proper Storage on a Core: For backdrops delivered rolled on a tube, it is essential to keep them tightly rolled on the provided core when not in use. Folding or creasing these backdrops will result in irreversible damage, affecting both their aesthetic and functionality. Do NOT roll, store, or transport your backdrop on a damaged tube, as this may cause damage. If the tube is broken, please contact the studio for a replacement to avoid repair fees.
Final Clean-Up Before Storage: At the conclusion of your shoot, kindly ensure that the backdrop is free from any tape, dirt, or other debris before rolling it back up. This final step helps maintain the backdrop’s high standard of quality, ensuring it remains in optimal condition for future uses.
How to Return Your Backdrop Rental
Place the backdrop image-side up (colored side up) on a clean, dry, flat surface.
Attach the backdrop’s edge (not the image side) to the tube it came on, using gaffer tape for best results. Tape every 12 inches along the edge to prevent the backdrop from unraveling.
Roll the backdrop tightly, ensuring it stays aligned with the tube and doesn’t extend beyond the ends. Once rolled, secure it with tape every 12 inches to keep it stable.
The backdrop should not be exposed to extreme heat, cold, or moisture.
